A Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, or CCBHC, is designed to expand access to comprehensive, evidence-based, integrated behavioral and physical health care, regardless of the ability to pay or place of residence.
CCBHCs must adhere to rigorous standards for the services they offer, placing a high emphasis on promptly connecting individuals with the care they require. Ensuring a comprehensive continuum of services and effective care coordination is another essential aspect mandated for CCBHCs to ensure individuals receive all necessary support. Therefore, Anuvia's CCBHC certification signifies that it has successfully met these stringent standards, leading to improved access to well-coordinated behavioral healthcare in Mecklenburg County.
For over 65 years, Anuvia has served as a vital safety net behavioral health provider. The decision to pursue CCBHC status perfectly aligns with our philosophy of offering a comprehensive continuum of care to all members of our community, regardless of their ability to afford services. Anuvia applied for a grant from the NC Department of Health and Human Services with the aim of becoming a CCBHC.
Among numerous applicants statewide, Anuvia was privileged to be one of the five organizations selected for this grant award. This significant grant not only enables us to expand our services to meet the CCBHC requirements but also provides crucial financial support to counterbalance the losses we incur due to low reimbursement rates for many of the services we provide.
By becoming a CCBHC, Anuvia can enhance the availability of behavioral health care, primary care services, and crisis services. This will enable us to more effectively tackle the social determinants of health for our clients while also bolstering staff retention and improving overall staff experiences at Anuvia.
